THE PURPOSE Social Media for Social Change is an online grassroots movement started by Boston native Gradon Tripp. By harnessing online social media tools and hosting offline fundraising events, SM4SC raises money for deserving charities to help people in need. THE EVENT
Gathering social media professionals, technologists, friends and family and otherwise talented people, Social Media for Social Change was born of the idea that the social media community, these “agents of change” can get together for one night, to support one cause. In our first event in Miami, we hope to gather 150 to 250 guests together for a night of fundraising, networking, entertainment and other fun. DJ Mr. Sandman is one of
Miami's premier DJs. His ability to traverse various genres of music
has made him one of the most sought after DJs in Miami. He currently
holds residency at The Delano on Tuesdays and The Mondrian Hotel on
Friday Nights. THE CAUSE
Camillus House (http://camillus.org) has provided humanitarian services to the indigent and homeless populations of Miami-Dade County, Florida for nearly 50 years. Established in 1960, Camillus House has grown steadily over the years from a small overnight shelter into a full service center offering a full “continuum of care” for persons who are poor and homeless. Camillus House does much more than offer a free meal, medical care, a shower, or drug treatment. It offers a second chance to the desperate, the lonely, and the ones society has left behind. Camillus House becomes their family, giving them the hope and support they need to begin the long, difficult transition to a new life and self-sufficiency. 100% of the proceeds from your ticket will go to benefit Camillus House.
